Family Bush Pie
1 ½ kilos minced beef, lamb or kangaroo
4 carrots small diced
4 onions small diced
5 sticks celery small diced
1 small packet (250 grams) frozen peas
1 small packet (250 grams) frozen corn
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons tomato paste
4 small Continental beef cubes
1 litre water
2 tablespoons canola or olive oil
salt and pepper
2 kilo potatoes (cooked and mashed) or same amount of instant mash potato can be used
Heat oil in electric frypan.
Add onion and garlic and fry until brown.
Add mince meat and fry until it becomes brown, place in carrot, celery, tomato paste, stock cubes and water.
Simmer until tender. Add frozen peas and corn, and cook.
Flavour with Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper.
To thicken, mix together one tablespoon flour or gravox in a small bowl with about ½ cup of water and add to pan cook for further 5 minutes until thickened.
Place mashed potato on top and serve.
